Church of God World Missions Cleveland, TN
The Church of God was birth in 1886 with eight individuals and today has a membership of over seven million people. Six million are members who reside outside continental North America. The first missionaries of the Church of God were Edmond and Rebecca Barr. Edmond was an immigrant from the Bahamas, and his wife was an African American. The Barr’s are the first individuals of African descent to join and receive ministerial credentials from the Church of God. They began their historic missionary endeavor to the Bahamas in November 1909. Now the Church of God is present in over 185 countries worldwide.
